We Change the Perception, We Change the Reality

Must read

“Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.”  – Mahatma Gandhi

From the time we were born, we received both positive and negative messages from our surroundings.

All those messages, indelibly programmed into our subconscious combine to create our belief system.

Perception-seeing, hearing, touching, smelling, tasting.

Perception is closely related to attitudes. Perception is the process by which organisms interpret and organize sensation to produce a meaningful experience of the world (Lindsay & Norman, 1977).

Perception is more than just passive reception of information.  Perception is an active process.

We should also keep in mind that perception is not something done with the eyes or the ears or any specific sense organ. It is a multi-sensor.

Perception is a very powerful tool and it can help us achieve our goals.

Human perceptions and their effect are very real and potentially life changing.

Studies also show that perceived risk can drive behaviour change. The perception of the harmful effects of smoking, for example, can influence habit and addiction.

When we change the perception, we change the reality.

Decide now to be in charge of our own perception of reality. Because if not, there are plenty of individuals whose sole purpose in life is to craft that perception for us.
